A planning application for a telecommunications structure near Cliffoney in north Sligo has been refused by Sligo County Council. Eircom, trading as eir, had sought permission for the erection of a 20-metre high structure with antennas, dishes and associated equipment at the Eir Exchange, Creevykeel, Cliffoney.

Emergency services have been called to the scene of a vehicle fire in Cliffoney in Sligo this morning.   It’s believed that the incident occurred close to Hannons Cross at Gorevan’s Pub.   It’s understood the fire has been extinguished.
