Tánaiste urges GP’s to be responsible when it comes to administering charges



The Tánaiste says he hopes people aren’t being exploited in areas where there’s a shortage of GPs.

 

An Irish Independent investigation found price differences of up to 50 euro for an appointment.

 

The prices locally were found to vary from between 45 and 65 euro in Sligo, 50 to 60 euro in Leitrim while prices per GP visit ranged from 35 to 60 Euro in Donegal.

 

Micheal Martin accepts some rural areas may not have the same services as urban areas, but hopes people aren’t being taken advantage of as a result:
