Questions asked over lack of red warning for Sligo

Questions are being asked as to why County Sligo wasn’t under a red weather warning last night as Storm Isha wreaked havoc across the North West.

Donegal and Mayo were issued red alerts but Sligo and Leitrim were under orange.

There had been a lot of structural damage locally with O’Hehirs Bakery and the Great Southern Hotel impacted.

Meanwhile storm Jocelyn is now heading towards the region, with Donegal and Mayo under an orange warning tomorrow evening.

Local Independent Councillor, Michael Clarke, says it’s remarkable given the level of destruction that the County wasn’t upgraded.
