A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for all Connacht counties.
The warning also impacts Munster.
It will come into effect this evening at 6pm and will be active until 4am on Tuesday morning.
The rain is expected to be very heavy and could be followed by thunder.
Localised flooding and difficult driving conditions are expected as a result.
