Renewed appeal made for information on “Sligo man” Peter Bergmann

A renewed appeal has been made for information on a man whose body washed up on Rosses Point beach in Sligo 14 years ago.

The man, known as Peter Bergmann, was found dead on the beach in June 2009. He checked in to the Sligo City Hotel using that name and gave an address in Vienna, Austria, but both turned out to be fake.

A postmortem later revealed that he was suffering from advanced bone and prostate cancer.

The new appeal has been launched by LocateInternational, a global register for missing people. They have made old footage of the man accessible online, which will allow people to learn more about the case.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact LocateInternational on 0300 102 1011 or email appeals@locate.international.
