Cllr moves to ease Sligo concerns over Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme

A Ballymote Tubbercurry councillor has moved this morning to ease any fears that may exist after Sligo was not included in the recently announced enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks (DCB) Grant Scheme

The scheme commenced earlier this week and will provide financial support to affected homeowners in counties Donegal, Mayo, Limerick and Clare whose dwelling had been damaged by the use of defective concrete blocks in its construction.

Grants of up to €420,000 are available for affected homeowners depending on the works required under the scheme.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Paul Taylor says he has been in contact with Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’ Brien’s office and was informed that reason Sligo was not included was due to the act application is still being processed by the Department of housing.
