Leitrim protesters disrupt public meeting



The Minister for the Environment, Eamon Ryan, met with protesters from Co Leitrim last evening, who are opposed to the prospect of gold mining taking place in the county.

 

The protesters had gathered outside the Glasshouse Hotel in Sligo, where Minister Ryan was due to address a public meeting.

 

Around 30 demonstrators made their views know on the granting of prospecting licences in 47 townlands in Leitrim.
