It’s been claimed that social day care services throughout Sligo are now completely inadequate.
It’s understood that some services in the county have been reduced from four to just two days with many service users lucky to get one day.
Cllr Thomas Healy says this type of health care is essential for maintaining elderly and vulnerable people in their homes.
He says the issue is causing undue upset and stress for those affected and has called for an immediate restoration of services:
