North West Garda stations take part in road safety appeal

Garda Stations in Sligo/Leitrim, Donegal, and nationwide have issued a reminder of road safety during the bank holiday weekend.

Statistics show the extended weekend to be one of the most dangerous for motorists, as more people take to the road.

Excessive speed and driving under the influence are some of the issues that were highlighted by Gardaí. They have been working with the RSA to raise awareness and they urge all drivers to travel safely over the weekend.

There have been 69 deaths on Irish roads so far this year.
