Warning sounded in Sligo over illegal use of fireworks



A Sligo Councillor is warning that the use of illegal fireworks in the lead up to Halloween will a disturbing impact on various sections of the community.

 

Councillor Arthur Gibbons has issued the warning as local authorities have urged the public to report anonymously bonfire stockpiles.

 

Dedicated phone lines have been set up in conjunction with councils, local Gardaí and fire officers

 

The Sinn Fein Councillor says that traditionally there have been no major issues with bonfires in this region however he has warned that the use of fireworks have been problematic
