In planning for what Ireland needs over the next 20 years, Minister Simon Coveney says the government will get it right this time.
He was speaking in Sligo for the regional launch of the Ireland 2040 National Framework Plan which sets out how the country might be developed during the coming two decades.
There have been similar plans in the past, such as the designation of various cities throughout the country as Gateways.
Among those was Sligo but in the end, nothing really happened.
But Minister Coveney now says the new plan provides a huge opportunity for Sligo town and county:
