North west community groups fearing funding cuts

It’s feared that a number of community and voluntary groups across the north west are having much-needed funding cut.

Donegal Deputy Thomas Pringle says steps must be taken to ensure organisations do not feel burdened in criticising the state.

The Independent TD’s comments follow a new report that found nearly two-fifths of participants say they feel their campaigning would be in vain should they speak out against the government.

Deputy Pringle says organisations should be able to carry out crucial work as normal without the holding of their honest opinions.
