21 people on hospital trolleys in North West



The number of people on trolleys at hospitals across the country remains high this morning.

In the North West, there are 21 on trolleys.

Seventeen of these are in Letterkenny University Hospital with four in Sligo University Hospital.

According to the latest report from nurses 459 people throughout the country are waiting on a bed in emergency departments and overflow areas of wards.

St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny is said to be the most overcrowded – where 31 patients are recorded on trolleys.

The numbers are down slightly on last week’s high of 527 according to the INMO.
