Housing crisis continues to dominate Sligo Council agendas

The lack of housing in Sligo is expected to be a dominant item on the agendas of upcoming council and municipal district meetings in the autumn of 2021.

Sligo/Drumcliffe Councillor Donal Gilroy earlier this year called for land that’s part of the strategic reserve to be rezoned and used for construction.

The Fianna Fail councillor says only developers who are serious about large scale construction of housing should be allowed avail of land rezoning.

He has been telling Ocean FM News about a proposal he has put forward for a meeting of the council.
