Businessman Peter Casey is to contest the European Parliament elections in the Midlands-Northwest constituency.
He announced the news overnight and is set to run as an Independent candidate.
In his election bid, Mr.Casey says he’s concerned over what he describes as the Government’s open border policy, the housing crisis and safety in rural Ireland.
Mr. Casey also ran for Europe in 2019 but was unsuccessful.
