Sligo homes sold for 11% more than asking price last year

Homes in Sligo sold for 11% more than the asking pricing last year- that’s higher than any other county in the country.

That’s according to figures released from property website ‘Perfect Property’.

During the second quarter of the year across the Republic, homes sold for 7 per cent more on average than the price at which they were offered in the first half of the year.

The biggest difference however was in Sligo, where selling prices outstripped listed prices by 11 per cent.

Meanwhile Leitrim recorded a difference of 8 per cent.

The data shows Donegal had one of the highest increases in houses prices in the country where there was a 12% rise recorded in the first part of the year.

The figures, based on scrutiny of the national Residential Property Price Register, show mainly rural counties enjoyed the highest increase in the prices at which houses sold.
