Collaborative effort needed to maximise impact of new business complex

Local groups need to work together to ensure the success of a new business complex being developed in the centre of Sligo Town.

That’s the view of IDA Ireland regional business development manager for the north west John Nugent ahead of the opening of The Building Block.

The aim of the building which has been virtually empty since 2009 is to be a new focal point for business creativity in the north west and will give them the opportunity to grow and develop.

It’s hoped the project will appeal to companies of all sizes both locally and internationally and create a gravitational pull to the area for ambitious entrepreneurs and startups.

The first phase will be completed in January and will include Ireland’s fastest broadband speed connectivity.

Some of the stakeholders involved include IDA Ireland, IT Sligo and the Local Enterprise Office and John Nugent believes a collaborative effort will maximise it’s impact on the region.
