There’s been a 40% increase in the number of people attending the Emergency Department at Letterkenny University Hospital over the last four years.
New figures show that almost 179,000 people presented at the Letterkenny ED between 2020 and 2023.
In 2020, just over 36,860 people sought care at the ED, rising to over 51,820 last year.
35% of patients who attended at the Emergency Department at Letterkenny University Hospital in 2023 were also admitted for further care.
