Scoil Mhuire Buncrana’s pursuit of a third FAI Schoolgirls senior ‘A’ cup in a row continued as the Inishowen school defeat Presentation College Athenry (Galway) 3-1 in Tuesday’s semi-final at Ray MacSharry Park in Sligo.
Scoil Mhuire, who defeated St. Attracta’s on a penalty shootout in last year’s final took the lead on nine minutes through Jodie Loughrey.
It was two-nil a matter of minutes later as Aoife Doherty found the back of the net from close range.
Presentation College did get one goal back on 40 minutes through Kerri O’Driscoll before Kerri Loughrey restored the two-goal buffer for the Donegal students just before half-time.
Their opponents in the final will either be Athlone Community College or Presentation Secondary School in Thurles, who meet in Birr on Thursday.
