Abbey Vocational School cruise into MacLarnon Cup final



The Abbey Vocational School, Donegal Town, senior boys gaelic footballers will contest the Ulster Colleges senior ‘B’ championship final – better known as the MacLarnon Cup – for the first time in the school’s history, following Monday’s emphatic 2-14 to 0-6 win against St Patrick’s Grammar, Downpatrick,  in a semi-final played at Garvaghey in Tyrone.

The Abbey team is backboned by the Four Masters Ulster minor club championship winning side.

They will now bid to win the MacLarnon for the first time in the school’s history on Sunday week (Feb 11th), when they take on Belfast’s Our Lady & St Patrick’s, Knock, in the provincial decider.

The Ulster Colleges ‘A’ final – the MacRory Cup, the same day will be between two Tyrone schools – holders Omagh CBS and St Pat’s Academy, Dungannon.
