ATU Sligo senior hurlers will contest next month’s finals weekend of the Fergal Maher Cup following back-to-back victories in a 72-hour period this week.
First the Sligo men beat ATU Connemara on Monday night by 6-21 to 0-7 – and they followed that up with a 2-15 to 1-7 success against ATU Donegal in Convoy on Wednesday night.
Those wins see ATU Sligo qualify for the Fergal Maher Cup finals weekend, which will be hosted by Munster Technological University (MTU) Kerry in Tralee on February 16th & 17th.
The team manager is Nicky Freyne of Tooreen Hurling Club, assisted by Stephen Fleming of Naomh Eoin Hurling Club in Sligo.
