Abbey Vocational School reach MacLarnon Cup semi-final



The Abbey Vocational School, Donegal Town’s senior boys gaelic footballers have reached the semi-finals of the Ulster Colleges senior ‘B’ football championship, the MacLarnon Cup, following Wednesday’s 2-14 to 1-5 quarter-final victory over Acquinas Grammar School, Belfast.

The Abbey led by 2-6 to 0-1 by the interval and were rarely troubled in this game.

The Donegal school had topped their MacLarnon group pre-Christmas to reach the knockout stages.

Now, after Wednesday’s convincing win, they are through to the last four of the competition.

The victory sets up a MacLarnon Cup semi-final clash with St Patrick’s Downpatrick.
