Sligo Rovers have officially confirmed the departure of goalkeeper, Luke McNicholas this afternoon.
McNicholas was a product of the Academy at the Showgrounds, and departed for League Two side Wrexham on loan in the middle of last season.
Bit O’Red boss, John Russell, had previously indicated that McNicholas’ loan would be made permanent.
The man McNicholas replaced, however, looks set to return to the Showgrounds.
Speculation is mounting that Ed McGinty could return on loan from Oxford United for the season.
It’s understood Rovers won the race to bring McGinty back to the League of Ireland ahead of Bohemians, who were also strongly linked with the Scottish shot-stopper in recent weeks.
