Sligo University Hospital second most overcrowded in Ireland today

Sligo University Hospital was the second most overcrowded in Ireland today.

17 people were awaiting admission there this morning.

157 patients nationally are waiting for a hospital bed today.

The latest Trolley Watch numbers from the INMO show 110 of those patients are waiting in Emergency Departments, with 47 in wards or hospital corridors.

The HSE has been aiming to discharge as many patients as possible by the end of this week, in an effort to avoid another spike in overcrowding over Christmas.
