Sligo’s hopes of promotion from Division 3 of the Allianz Football League ended following Saturday’s 0-13 to 1-10 draw with Offaly at Markievicz Park.
Tony McEntee’s side looked set to win this contest at various stages – but they repeatedly allowed Offaly back into it at key moments in the match.
Sligo move on to seven points from six matches, but with Down and Westmeath both on 10 points ahead of their top-of-the-table clash on Sunday, promotion is now out of reach for the Yeats County ahead of next Sunday’s concluding Division 3 game at home to Westmeath.
