Approval has been given for road safety measures at Laghy to proceed.
The issue has been a bone of contention for some time, but the new year will see the measures move to the design phase.
The matter was discussed at the latest meeting of the Donegal MD.
Cllr Mícheal Naughton, who has been campaigning for measures to be brought in, was happy that progress is being made.
