North West commuters warned of cold weather conditions



The Road Safety Authority’s advising road users to prepare for cold weather conditions this morning.

 

it comes as it prepares to launch it’s annual road safety appeal in the run up to Christmas.

 

 

Met Eireann has  issued a yellow warning for cold temperatures and icy patches across much of the country this morning, leading to hazardous conditions on roads and footpaths.

 

The warning was issued yesterday and the counties impacted include, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

 

The warning will come into effect from 6pm this evening and will remain valid until 12pm tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.

 

Temperatures are expected to fall below -3 degrees in many areas with Frost and ice developing.

 

 

Fermanagh is the only county in the north to escape a similar warning which has been issued for Northern Ireland by the UK Met Office.
