Leitrim County Council has confirmed that issues of planning concern at the Abbey Manor Hotel in Dromahair is under active consideration by their Planning Department.
The Local Authority says Correspondence in relation to planning matters have been issued to the owner of the building.
In a statement to the OceanFM news, Leitrim County Council said it would be inappropriate for them to make any comment until further engagement with the owner has taken place.
Earlier this week the Dromahair Concerned Residents Group were informed by a Community Engagement Team that no refugees would be arriving at the facility until the planning concerns have been addressed.
Local Councillor Mary Bohan says with the reported number of people that the facility is due to house, it’s vital that all the planning criteria is met.
The Fianna Fáil Councillor says it’s vital that all buildings used for accommodation meets the standards laid down in the planning laws.
