Dáil hears claims of under investment in North West’s third level education providers



A Sligo Leitrim TD says there has been historic under investment in third level education in the North West.

 

Deputy Marian Harkin has welcomed the incorporation of St Angela’s college as part of the Atlantic Technology University this week.

 

 

The Independent Deputy made the comments during leader’s questions in the Dáil where she quoted recent findings from the Northern and Western Regional Assembly that claim between 2012 and 2022 Higher level institutes in the region received 28% less per under graduate than the national average.

 

 

In response the Minister for Agriculture, Donegal TD Charlie McConlaogue, who was taking the questions said he would raise the issue with the Minster for Higher Education Simon Harris.
