A Garda patrol car has been significantly damaged during an incident in Sligo town.
A major emergency operation was launched at St. Brigid’s Place in the early hours of this morning and lasted for several hours.
It’s believed that a property in the area was also badly damaged during the course of the incident.
A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested for criminal damage offences and remains in custody at Sligo Garda station.
Gardai have confirmed that there were no injuries and that investigations are ongoing.
