Manorhamilton based third level students still experiencing travel challenges

A Leitrim Councillor says it’s unacceptable that entering into the October Bank Holiday weekend there are still third level students in Manorhamilton struggling with securing bus seats on services to Sligo.

As a knock-on-effect of the accommodation crisis in Sligo, many students attending the ATU have struggled to get seats on buses during morning services from a number of local towns travelling to Atlantic Technology University.

While additional rural link services have been announced  in the region over the past number of weeks, independent Councillor Felim Gurn says towns with large populations such as Manorhamilton should be provided with adequate transport services.

He says 5 students were left without transport on recently as Monday last, Cllr Gurn says it’s time that TFI got its act together.
