Poor Sligo Rovers lose 2-0 at home to Dundalk



Sligo Rovers were soundly beaten by Dundalk 2-0 in Friday night’s SSE Airtricity Premier Division game at the Showgrounds.

Goals from Daryl Horgan in the first half and Sam Durrant gave the visitors a comfortable three points.

In truth, this was one of Rovers poorest home displays all season.

They played most of the second half with just 10 players following Robbie Burton’s dismissal for two yellow cards.

They must now try and pick themselves up for Monday night’s trip to Dublin to play St Patrick’s Athletic.

Sligo Rovers boss John Russell described Friday’s performance as unacceptable.
