Carbury FC beat Gurteen to reach Frank Kennedy Cup final

Carbury FC came from behind to beat Gurteen Celtic 3-1 in Thursday evening’s Frank Kennedy Memorial Cup semi-final tie.

Caelan Hunt gave Super League leaders Gurteen a first-half lead – but second-half strikes from Mark McGoldrick (2) and Ryan McManus earned Damien Dunleavy’s side a place in the final.

The two clubs are still tussling for the Southern Hotel Super League title.

Gurteen have a six-point lead at the top of table – but second-placed Carbury have four games in hand, and the two sides still have to play each other again in the league.

In the meantime, Carbury now await the winners of the second Frank Kennedy Cup semi-final between Cartron Utd and MCR.

Cartron beat Glenview Stars 6-0 in their quarter-final tie earlier this week, while MCR were 2-1 winners against Calry Bohs last week.
