The next sitting of the Ballymote Tubbercurry Municipal District is take place at Ireland West Airport Knock.
The plan is to sit down with airport management and discuss the facility’s performance and hopes for the future.
The airport has gone from strength to strength with August of this year was the busiest month in its 38-year history.
A record 102,000 passengers passed through the airport in Knock during the month, which represented a 10% increase on August 2022.
Local Independent Councillor Michael Clarke says it’s a hugely important asset for this region.
