North Sligo Athletic Club’s Chris O’Donnell produced his best run of 2023 so far in winning a fifth men’s 400 metres title in six years at the National Senior Track & Field Championships in Santry on Sunday evening.
O’Donnell broke 46 seconds in wet conditions to clock a fine 45.98 secs and left the rest of the field in his wake.
He told Athletics Ireland after the win that this was his best run of 2023 to date.
He will now prepare for next month’s World Athletics Championships in Budapest in confident form.
