Hikers have been asked to stay off Errigal Mountain in west Donegal today in the interest of safety.
It comes as works are underway to extend the climbers path on the mountain.
Donegal Mountain Rescue has issued the warning, stating that the movement of large amounts of stone requires the use of a helicopter and therefore the operation may leave it unsafe for hikers.
It has been advised that people avoid the area for the next few days as works continue, so as not to disrupt progress and to avoid any danger that these works may impose to the public.
