North West Simon Community publish worrying figures in relation to homelessness

The CEO of the North West Simon Community has described an increase in  homelessness figures in the North West as “truly appalling.”

The North West has seen an 85% increase in homelessness since May 2022 in figures published.

Child homelessness has also increased by 26% increase in the same period.

A Homeless Action Plan was approved by the Local Authorities in the region in March of this year and North West Simon Community is calling on the implementation of all aspects of the Action Plan to help stem the flow of people into homelessness.

CEO of the North West Simon Community, Noel Daly says the numbers are continuing to rise.
