Gardaí warn that deactivated Landlines could suggest that premises is in danger of being burgled

Gardaí in the north west are advising any business that experiences a sudden or unexpected issue with their landline phone lines to contact them.

They claim that there has recently been a number of burglaries where telephone lines have been cut to disable alarms and particularly monitored alarms before burglaries take place.

Garda David McDonagh from the Sligo Leitrim Garda Division says that there is  a pattern between phone lines being disabled and premised being targeted by criminals.

He says home and business owners should contact Gardai if such situations arise
