Sligo women’s rugby team won the Connacht Senior Plate final at the Sportsground in Galway on Sunday with an impressive 24-12 win over Tuam Oughterard.
Tries from Cliodhna O’Sullivan, Emma Cox and former Sligo LGFA stalwart Etna Flanagan helped propel Jamie Bowes’ side to victory over a Tuam side who had beaten Sligo in the league play-offs earlier this season.
The Sligo men’s team were playing later on Sunday in the Connacht Senior Cup final against Buccaneers (4pm).
