National Ambulance Education and Training facility to be established in North West



A National Ambulance Education and Training facility is to be established in Sligo.

 

Currently trainee paramedics have to carry out the majority of their training in Dublin and Cork.  This situation has led to calls being made for such a facility to be set up in this region.

 

It’s not yet known when it’ll will be up and running but confirmation has been provided that Sligo is also to get a new ambulance base on Clarion Road.

 

Member of the Regional Health Forum and Sligo county councillor Donal Gilroy says with third level education already having a huge presence in Sligo, this will only add to what the town has to offer:
