Payment to mica-affected homeowners still on ice



It remains to be seen when payments will be paid to all homeowners in Donegal to recover from costs incurred because of mica.

 

Earlier this year, it emerged that only 43 homeowners in the county had received full payment for remediation works for the first three years of the scheme.

 

While a number of banks have offered zero-interest loans.

 

The joint committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform is meeting this afternoon to discuss the crisis.

 

Donegal Sinn Féin TD Pearse Doherty has long been sceptical over the government’s handling of the crisis.
