Leitrim councillor warns that Blacklion sign has potential to damage tourism potential



A Leitrim Councillor says a sign that was recently erected in Blackloin has the potential to seriously damage cross-border tourism.

 

The sign in the West Cavan village states ‘that you are now entering free Europe’ has surfaced on a building in recent days.

 

 

It’s understood that the Sign is attracting attention from passing traffic.

 

 

Cllr Sean McDernott is an advocate of cross border tourism projects, he has questioned the timing of erecting such a sign on the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News Cllr McDermott says the sign has the potential to damage tourism the border and north west
