Figures released this morning show that the Department of Education spent close to 1.9 million euro on the salaries of teachers at Sligo Grammar School last year.

The figures also show that over 104 million euro was paid out on teacher’s wages in private schools across the country during 2022.

According to freedom of information figures, the bill for two schools in Dublin was over 4 million euro.

It exceeded 3 million in five other schools around the country.
