Save Dough Mountain Group maintain that there is significant opposition to wind farms



A representative for ‘The Save Dough Mountain Group’ in north Leitrim has questioned data released by Wind Energy Ireland in relation to the opposition against wind farms.

 

It’s claimed Consumers could be paying a lower price for energy if the government introduced measures to speed up the planning process around the development of wind farms.

 

 

New research released ahead of the Annual Wind Energy Ireland Conference which gets under way today found that four in five Irish people support wind farms while opposition to wind energy has fallen to just 5 per cent.

 

Joseph Sheerin is a representative for the Save Dough Mountain Group in north Leitrim.

 

He says that there is significant levels of opposition to the constructions of wind farms in many parts of North Leitrim:
