Consultants have been appointed to begin work on 4 schemes under the Active Travel Programme in County Sligo.
The routes are said to pose safety issues to cyclists, walkers and road users.
Councillor Thomas Walsh, is chairperson of Sligo County Council’s Special Policy Committee on Environment and Infrastructure Policy.
He says the routes in question are currently lacking adequate pedestrian access.
