Border Communities against Brexit group warn that electronic travel authorisation scheme could damage local tourism sector

The Border Communities against Brexit have voiced concerns over the proposed Electronic Travel Authorisation scheme.

The initiative which is due to take effect from next year is part of the UK Borders Act.

It will require all Non-Irish EU, non-British citizens to apply for passes prior to travelling from north to south.

Concerns have been expressed the new requirements will impact on the transportation of goods on the island and will also negatively impact the tourism sector in the North West.

Tom Murray is a spokesperson for the Border Communities against Brexit he says the introduction of this Law will effectively create a Hard Border for Non-Irish citizens living in Border Counties.
