Many North West hotels to stay open over winter to counteract staff issues



A Donegal Hotelier says that many Hotels in the north west will continue to trade over the winter months so that they will be able to secure the services of existing staff in the spring of 2023.

 

Paul Diver is the Chairman of the Donegal branch of the Irish Hotels Federation. Speaking to Ocean FM he says that many hotels fear that if they shut during the winter months they will not reopen next year.

 

Some Hotels in other parts of the country claim that staff shortages is one of the main reasons why hotels are choosing to house refugees instead of trading.

 

There are currently 39 thousand refugees currently living in hotel accommodation.
