Housing Minister confirms Mica Redress will be paid this year



The Housing Minister hopes that the new Mica Redress Scheme will be rolled out by the end of the year.

 

The new scheme was signed into law by President Michael D. Higgins at the weekend and will see homeowners be provided with grants of up to €420,000 to homeowners to repair their homes.

 

Minister Darragh O’Brien was in Sligo yesterday where he confirmed that he and his Government officials are still awaiting submissions from Sligo County Council but that the County will be added to the scheme thereafter.

 

Speaking to Ocean fM news, Minister O’Brien says regulations are still be worked on and the scheme will be rolled out as soon as is practical:
