Donegal musician playing a different tune to the government on latest funding

A Donegal musician is describing funding for the night-time sector as ‘crumbs’ with the long-promised basic income for the arts continuing to be delayed.

Donegal musician Matt McGranahan, is spokesman for the Music and Entertainment Association.

His comments come as an extra 1.4 million euro is being made available to support off-peak entertainment in venues across the country.

The Donegal musician says today’s announcement is little comfort to those struggling in the industry after confirmation earlier this week that a much-needed scheme to help musicians is being pushed out.
