Harkin calls for an updated Programme of Government that will benefit North West.



A Sligo Leitrim TD is calling for the Programme of Government to be revisited.

 

 

It’s understood that dissident Fianna Fáil TDs are worried about the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and are demanding a review of the deal underpinning the coalition put in place two years ago.

 

The call, backed by a large group of backbenchers, is a further blow to the leadership of Taoiseach Micheál Martin who starts a visit to Japan today and is also likely to cause tension between the three government parties.

 

Independent Marian Harkin says any chance to review the programme should be taken adding that when it comes to much referenced balanced regional development in the report – the North West has been let down badly by the failure to follow through on these commitments:
